The Khanga za Faraja Initiative, organized by Inreallife, was successfully carried out in the districts of Temeke and Ilala, Dar es Salaam in celebration of International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to recognize and appreciate hardworking mothers in everyday environments who continue to support their families despite facing significant life challenges.

During the outreach, our team visited mothers engaged in small-scale businesses and informal work, including roadside vendors and market traders. Through direct interaction, we were able to listen to their stories, understand their struggles, and share moments of encouragement. Each selected mother received a Khanga as a symbol of appreciation, dignity, and support, reminding them that their efforts are seen and valued.

The initiative had a meaningful emotional impact, bringing smiles, hope, and a sense of recognition to the beneficiaries. It also strengthened community connections and highlighted the importance of supporting women at the grassroots level. The positive response from both participants and the wider community reflects the relevance and importance of such initiatives.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all contributors and supporters who made this activity possible. Your support enabled us to reach and uplift these mothers. We remain committed to continuing similar initiatives that promote dignity, empowerment, and community development.
